A Message from the Pastor:
Have you ever been fascinated by the effect of throwing pebbles into a pond? One tiny pebble can produce an ever-widening circle that eventually fills the entire pond, and if you wait long enough and if you throw the pebble into the center of the pond, when the ripple reaches the bank, it ripples back to the original point of entry.
The church of Jesus Christ is like an ever-widening circle. As it gives itself away on behalf of others, it grows. Everything we do on behalf of others comes back to us. Jesus taught us this in all he said and did: "those who lose their lives will find them" (Matthew 10:39). We have a need to help others. God made us that way. We find emotional and spiritual health by moving beyond concern for self. The Christian understands that life centers around our relationships with Christ and others, not around ourselves.
Thanks be to God, many parishioners of Sacred Heart Parish have discovered that worship with Christ and the community and ministry to God's people stand at the heart of our Christian life together.
In this small booklet we describe the various ministries of our parish. This is given to you so you may be ministered to in your need and you may join us by using your unique gifts and talents for the good of others. The ministries offer a wide variety of choices under the heading of love, justice, and mercy. In LOVE, we nurture those who are following Christ. In JUSTICE, we stir up God's people into taking action against the root causes of injustice. In MERCY, we focus on reconciling people to themselves, to others and to God.
In all of these ministries we desire to be disciples of the Lord for that is our calling through Baptism. Come, join us. The Catholic community of Sacred Heart Parish needs you.
Sincerely in Christ Jesus,
Reverend Arnold F. Colletti
Pastor
